The idea was born from a personal connection, with Avanti, the founder, partnering with her father to bring a legacy to life—exporting rare and valuable wood from a collection that dates back 25 years. This project, carefully curated by Avanti's father, includes Ebony wood, which has become a cornerstone of the company's mission.

About Us:
Furniture business - Malawi (Africa): Mapanga Furniture was first established fifty years ago under the name Nyasaland Furniture Mart and later changed to National Furniture upto its present name. It is solely a family venture first founded by the Late Mr. D.M. Patel, (my Grandfather) who in the early fifties was the first Indian to own the first five different industries and businesses, namely Fulcream Dairy, ABC Cola Company, Chirimba Press, National Nail Factory and Steel Beds Factory. The venture is currently managed by the 2nd and 3rd generation of the Patel family. The factory complex is housed under a four-acre site, some six kms from Limbe on Zomba road and has a work force of 320 employees employed in the furniture, soft furnishings, foam and mattress manufacturing divisions. The company employs first rate carpenters and technicians with modern machinery to cater for a wide range of furniture, from school furniture, office furniture, household furniture to undertaking substantial contracts like refurbishment of hotels, banks, universities etc.

While Avanti thrived in the wine industry, her connection to her roots in Malawi remained strong. This deep love for her homeland sparked a new venture—Avanti Assets Ltd. The idea for the company emerged when Avanti discovered an incredible opportunity to work with her father on a project that would bring his remarkable Ebony wood collection to the global market.
For over 25 years, her father has carefully preserved this rare collection of Ebony wood, and it became clear that the time had come to share it with the world. Avanti Assets Ltd. was founded with a singular mission: to find the right buyers for this exclusive collection of Ebony wood. With her father’s expertise and Avanti’s drive, the company is dedicated to providing unparalleled access to this rare and valuable resource, connecting it with buyers who appreciate the uniqueness and craftsmanship of such a prized material.
